MISHMASH 2026
The group exhibition MISHMASH is on view through 13 June 2026. Open Thursday to Saturday, 3–7 p.m. and by appointment.
Mishmash, a term of Yiddish origin describing a colourful mixture or medley, refers here to an artistic interplay – a gathering and conglomerate of diverse positions in painting, mixed media, and sculpture brought together under a fluid curatorial concept.
Different painterly approaches stand alongside figurative works whose visual languages and stylistic vocabularies merge with the artists’ individual life stories and artistic statements into a multiperspectival whole.
Participating artists: Anja Wülfing, Dasha Minkina, Emily Strowitzki, Frank Krüger, Liza Mercedes, Moritz Thoma, Peter Simon Mühlhäußer and Tomas Jetela.

Frank Krüger currently lives in Munich, Germany. He is a self-taught artist who works primarily in oil paints. In his small-format artworks he depicts the human, mostly female figure. The basis for his paintings is formed by photographs, from which he takes cut-outs to translate them into his artistic style. His style is characterized by a strong blur, while the motifs only become clearly visible by walking further away.

Emily Strowitzki studied Communication Design at the University of Applied Sciences Munich and holds a Master’s degree in Design – Knowledge Visualization from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Besides working as a Digital Product Designer, she dedicates every free minute to her artistic practice. In her works, Strowitzki works monochromatically with oil paint on canvas, exploring the tension between the desire to recognise ourselves in others and the fear of encountering those aspects of ourselves that we would rather hide. Those who truly engage with this often discover that what frightens us is inextricably linked to what we secretly long for. At the heart of her work are the subtle facial expressions of her models. No loud gestures, but subtle nuances that say more than words. The portraits are not only created to be looked at, but also pose the counter-question: are we being seen by the image itself?
